Understanding before memorising
We do not ask children to memorise opening lines they cannot explain. Every idea is taught with a reason, then practised until the child can explain it back.
Mistakes are teaching material
Coaches review the child's own games, not just textbook positions. A blunder that keeps repeating is the most useful lesson plan we have.
Calm, not pressure
Children learn faster when they are not afraid of losing. Our classes are encouraging, and results are never used to shame a student.
Progress you can measure
Each stage ends with a milestone the child demonstrates. Certificates recognise that demonstrated skill, not attendance.
How coach matching works
Our coaching team includes experienced coaches who specialise in different ages and stages, some are brilliant with five-year-olds, others with tournament players. The match matters as much as the curriculum.

- 2We shortlist coaches whose teaching style suits that profile.
- 3The demo class is a two-way trial: the coach assesses level, you assess fit.
- 4If the match is not right, we change the coach, no awkward conversation needed.
We do not publish invented coach biographies, ratings or awards. When your demo is scheduled we tell you exactly who will teach your child and what their background is.
